Photographer of the Month ~ Keith Krueger
My wife Karen and I moved to Asheville 4 years ago after 30 years in the always summer climate of Tampa, Florida. The change of season, mild winters, and the great bio-diversity of the Appalachian area held a special appeal for us and we have enjoyed every minute of it.
Karen and I have taken advantage of this opportunity to re-invent ourselves as we attempt to figure out who we want to be when we grow up. One of my keen interests since the move has been nature / macro photography. One of the things that I find so appealing about photography is that like so many things in life, the more you dive in and explore the more you realize how little you really know and how much more there is to learn. With that in mind I attempt to compose each image as if it is going to be something that I would be proud to display on the walls of my home. The vast majority of the images don’t turn out that way but that is the joy of the exercise – working towards something that you and others can see the beauty in.
