Marci Spencer`s books will be available at the Holiday Potluck on Thursday, Nov. 16.

Marci Spencer friend of the Blue Ridge Naturalist Network and a certified Blue Ridge Naturalist is the author of Clingmans Dome: Highest Mountain in Great Smokies, Pisgah National Forest: A History and Nantahala National Forest: A History all three published by The History Press. Her children’s book, Potluck, Message delivered:” the Great Smoky Mountains Are Saved”, was published by Grateful Steps. The Yosemite Conservancy included Marci’s essay “Pine Siskins make history” in its book, The Wonder of IT All: 100 Stories from the National Park Service, published to celebrate the centennial of the national park system. Please bring a check or cash if you would like to purchase a book.

 

 

Ken Czarnomski`s Nantahala Maps (two) a color rendition (worth framing) 13″ x 19″ and the black and white watershed shed map 8.5″ X 11″ will be available at an additional $5 donation.

Blue Ridge Parkway Vistas” – Tuesday, October 17, 5:30-7:00 pm

Author/photographer Tim Barnwell will introduce his published guide Blue Ridge Parkway Vistas to what you can see from the many overlooks along the Parkway.  He will also present his newest release, Great Smokey Mountains and have books for sale. Open to the public. West Asheville Public Library.

Great Smoky Mountains Vistas: A Guide, with Mountain Peak Identifications, for What to See and Do In and Around the National Park. Mr. Barnwell combines panoramic photographs from overlooks in and around the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, aerial photographs of western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee, and articles on popular area attractions and activities to create this unique and comprehensive guidebook.   Read more
